Our Challenge Ahead - Virginians For America First

Updated: Aug 3, 2021

Rahm Emanuel, former congressman, mayor of Chicago, White House Chief of Staff, and faithful leftist democrat said, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that: it’s an opportunity to do things you could never do before.”

As we all know now the Marxists and other DC Swamp vermin took those words to heart in 2020, and squeezed out every soul crushing opportunity to erase our freedoms, destroy the world’s greatest economy, crush the hopes and dreams of millions of Americans, brainwash a future generation, pollute and remove all confidence in the American election process, divide Americans and pit them against one another, destroy public and private property all in the name of equity and inclusion, while defunding and endangering those who put their lives on the line daily to protect and serve the public. But this was only the beginning.

The CCP sponsored COVID crisis has now created a chain reaction of crises around the world that will take many years and untold trillions of dollars to resolve. And we know the hate filled anti-American Marxist inside America and around the globe will continue to take advantage of every single one to further their toxic agendas.

It seems hopelessly overwhelming, right?

Maybe it is. But Americans have faced overwhelming challenges before and won. In fact, when Americans come together with common purpose and resolve we have a track record of winning. Start with asking the British what happened in 1776. They were the undisputed heavyweight world superpower of the time and an underfunded rag-tag group of freedom fighters led by a farmer defeated them in the world’s greatest upset of the status quo.

In his 2014 book, Independence: the Tangled Roots of the American Revolution, Professor Arthur R. Miller states:

“At no time did more than 45 percent of colonists support the war, and at least a third of colonists fought for the British. Unlike the Civil War, which pitted regions against each other, the war of independence pitted neighbor against neighbor. Americans were not only rebelling against the mother country, they were fighting each other.”

Sound familiar? We are certainly fighting a tyrannical out-of-control government. Sadly, we are also fighting each other. Families have been torn apart, friendships dissolved, and racial animus is being rekindled by an emergent culture of mind-boggling postmodern “wokeness.”

I believe we can win again. I believe we must win again. I believe we win by following the same pattern we have followed every other time we have faced such daunting crises.

We face the problem head on, and we defeat it!

However, before we can be effective, we must recognize several things. All of us perceive these crises somewhat differently, and our solutions may not align completely. We may share a desire for the same outcome, but our chosen paths to resolving the problems may be quite different. We must give each other great latitude for having differing approaches and opinions. We must keep in mind that all of us are working through our own set of fears and concerns for the future of our Republic, our families, and individual situations. The problems are complex, and the solutions will not be simple.

One of the greatest challenges we face is the defeatism that has seized so many of our fellow patriots. It has been my experience when speaking to groups about election integrity there will always be someone who is distraught and will say things such as, “if we can’t get rid of these machines there is no reason to vote,” or “I want an audit, without an audit there is no reason to vote,” or some other such thing. I know I am guilty of letting my frustration with these well-meaning people cause me to react to them improperly. In fact, after one incident where I did lash out with unnecessary harshness, I had a good friend point out that my words toward a frightened fellow patriot did more harm than good. I was wrong. For a moment I lost sight of the real goal . . . unity.

Political victory is only possible when we use the proper math. Multiplication and addition are where the formulas for the win are found. Division and subtraction will make defeat a certainty. It doesn’t take an Albert Einstein or Elon Musk to figure that out. This is something we must all keep in mind as we move forward together to save our Republic.

After the November 2020 elections the most important subject to the majority of those who love America was Election Integrity. It was certainly seen as the number one crisis and in the most immediate need of repair. Without trusted election results we have no Republic, and it is just a matter of time before we deteriorate into something unrecognizable, volatile, and very dangerous.

With this one crisis spawning a multitude of others we must move swiftly into a management posture. There are five basic steps to managing a crisis: 1. Assess, 2. Engage 3. Plan, 4. Act, 5 Communicate.

Each person must choose how to proceed through these five steps and where possible join with like-minded individuals on similar paths. But as we move forward it is incumbent on us to unite. No individual or organization can do all that is required to correct these immense problems we face to restore trust and transparency to our elections at every level. It is going to take an activist army.

Audits, cleaning voter files, demanding legislative remedies, monitoring drop boxes, planning for election day operations, monitoring absentee ballots and early voting and so much more. Coordinating these efforts is much like writing and performing a symphony. Each musician has a part to play, and without their best performance the symphony is just noise.

Please continue to stay engaged and learn what must be done and how to do it. Take advantage of the upcoming training sessions around Virginia. Continue to recruit like-minded patriots and mentor them. Build unity by staying positive and showing appreciation for the sacrifice of time and treasure of those who are serving with you.

We have a Republic to save. It has been said that the most certain pathway to success is to pray like it all depends on God, work like it all depends on you. We know what our mission is, and we can all find out what part we need to play.

Thank you for all you have done, and for all you will do!
